Meridian Financial Group is an independent wealth management firm with $280M in assets under management, serving 340 families across the Southeast. Their client experience was fragmented: account documents were emailed as attachments, onboarding required multiple in-person meetings to collect paperwork, and their website was a generic template that did nothing to differentiate them from larger competitors. Client referral rates had stagnated because existing clients had no easy way to share the firm's value proposition with friends and family.
We built a secure, SOC 2-compliant client portal integrated with their existing custodian data feeds, paired with a public-facing website designed to establish credibility, showcase their advisory philosophy, and make referrals effortless. The portal streamlines onboarding with digital document collection and e-signatures, while the marketing site features educational content and advisor profiles that convert referral traffic into qualified prospects.
Conducted discovery sessions with the advisory team and a sample of their clients to understand the biggest pain points: document access, onboarding friction, communication gaps between quarterly reviews, and the difficulty of explaining complex financial topics to referral prospects.
Built a secure client portal with Next.js featuring role-based access, encrypted document storage, e-signature integration for account paperwork, and a dashboard showing portfolio overview data synced from their custodian platform.
Designed a digital onboarding workflow that replaces the 4-meeting paper process: clients complete risk questionnaires, upload documents, sign agreements, and set investment preferences online -- reducing onboarding from 3 weeks to 5 days.
Created the public website with advisor profile pages, an investment philosophy section, client success stories (anonymized), and a financial education blog targeting keywords like 'wealth management Charlotte' and 'retirement planning advisor.'
Built a referral system allowing existing clients to share a personalized landing page with friends and family, pre-loaded with the referring client's advisor information and a custom consultation booking link.
