The Challenge

The Kimes Ranch Million Dollar Breakaway is one of the richest breakaway roping championships in the world, offering a $1,000,000 purse exclusively for female competitors of all ages at WestWorld of Scottsdale. With a multi-stage qualification system spanning months, 38 sponsors, CBS Sports Network broadcast coverage, and hundreds of competitors tracking their standings, they needed an event platform that could handle the complexity. Their previous web presence couldn't manage real-time results, qualifier leaderboards, or the ticket sales volume for three nights of sold-out finals.

Our Solution

We built a comprehensive WordPress event platform powered by Elementor Pro that serves as the central hub for the entire competition -- from qualifier announcements through finals night results. The site handles competitor communications, qualification tracking, ticket sales integration, sponsor showcasing, live stream embedding, and day-of-event scheduling, all while reflecting the premium production value of a million-dollar championship.

Our Approach

Designed a visually stunning event site with particle animations, dynamic hero sections, and a bold aesthetic that matches the energy and prestige of a million-dollar championship event.

Built a multi-stage competition tracker displaying the qualification pipeline: First Chance Qualifier, Oklahoma's Richest, VRQ Leaderboard standings, Last Chance Qualifier, Semi-Finals, and Finals round-by-round results.

Integrated the Flicket ticketing platform for General Admission ($50) and Reserved Seating ($65), with a smooth external checkout flow and clear event scheduling for all three finals nights.

Created a sponsor showcase section for 38 partners including Boot Barn, AQHA, YETI, and Tito's Handmade Vodka, with tiered visibility based on sponsorship level.

Set up live stream embedding for qualifying and semi-final rounds broadcast free on the site, with CBS Sports Network broadcast scheduling for finals nights.

Built comprehensive results pages with round-by-round standings, aggregate scores, and money earners -- updated in real-time during the competition.

Implemented Gravity Forms for competitor entry changes, stall requests, and sponsor inquiries, with NextGen Rodeo app integration for official entry management.

Optimized performance with WP Rocket caching, lazy-loaded video embeds, and critical CSS inlining to ensure fast load times during high-traffic event days.

The Results

Event website handled 340% traffic surge during finals week without performance degradation.

Ticket sales conversion rate reached 8.2% from site visitors, well above the live event industry average of 3-4%.

Competitor engagement with the qualification tracker averaged 6+ page views per session during the VRQ leaderboard season.

Sponsor showcase page generated 22 new sponsorship inquiries for the following year's event.

Live stream viewership from the embedded player exceeded 45,000 unique viewers across qualifying rounds.

Mobile traffic accounted for 78% of all event-day visits, validating the mobile-first design approach.

"

When you're running a million-dollar event with CBS cameras rolling, your website can't go down. Webanto built us a platform that handled the traffic spikes on finals night without breaking a sweat. The qualification tracker kept our competitors engaged all season long, and the sponsor section has already helped us close deals for next year. They understand that this isn't just a website -- it's the front door to the biggest breakaway roping event in the world.
